“I Chat, Therefore I Am” made it to the Shortlist for the Letter Review Prize for Short Fiction (July–August 2023). From what I can tell, the Shortlist is another way to say it’s my second “Runner-Up” award. I get some recognition, but I’m out of the money.
Still, since I received a runner-up (or equivalent) award for the two contests I entered, I’ll consider it a minor victory. Even better, a valuable life lesson. I’m not sure what I’m supposed to have learned, but it’ll come to me.
